Arts & Crafts

Art is a powerful tool for creative expression, the members of the arts & crafts group meet twice a week at the Centre. The Group is called the Busy Bees.  They are always busy knitting, crocheting, making jewelry, painting, and weaving.  It is a place where they can be creative, socialize and make new friends. They donate their creations to help fund-raise for Contactivity Centre. The Wednesday group is full, but you can add your name to a waiting list. Please contact us at 514-932-2326.
Contactivity Centre’s Arts and Crafts Group, called the Busy Bees, and the Westmount Quilters' Association are in collaboration with the Westmount Public Library for a New Horizons project to make Fidget Quilts for seniors with Alzheimer's in Westmount. Handling the soft playful  items can be calming for restless hands. The Busy Bees were busy much of the year knitting items for this project.  On December 2, 2019, the Busy Bees presented 2 knitted Fidget Lap Blankets embellished with fidget items as well as 111 additional fidget items to Mr. Daniel Miguez de Luca, Librarian of Westmount Public Library.  The 111 additional fidget items will be sewn on to quilts made by the Westmount Quilters' Association.
